There are presently no open calls for submissions

The deadline for submissions for Echolocation Magazine's Issue 12 has passed. We will notify writers of submissions by early summer. Thank you all for considering us for your work!

Our 2012 Poetry Contest is still live and will receive submissions until April 7, 2012. See more detailed guidelines below.

Please include a short biography of yourself in your submission, which may include your area of studies, your interests, previous publications and writing activities, and a personal website or blog. Enter this into the "Cover Letter" field when you submit.

FAQs:

Our next submissions reading period, for Issue #13, will open Fall 2012.

Echolocation pays one contributors' copy on acceptance, for the time being.

We highly recommend that you become familiar with our magazine by reading through the current or back issues, which can be ordered online via our blog.

Because we are student and volunteer-run, our response time can be over six months. We typically finalize our decisions in the spring. If this is a concern, we recommend that you submit closer to the deadline. We do not approve of simultaneous submissions as it is saddening when a poem or story dear to us finds another home. But given that lengthy response times are symptomatic of this particular industry, we will find it within us to be understanding. If your work is accepted elsewhere, please withdraw all electronic submission through Submishmash. All submissions must be previously unpublished in North America.
